Guys,

need quick help today as insurance expired. I have 3 vehicles and comparing the prices below the golf is ludicrous!!!!!

I'm 34 full NCB.

'98 Kawasaki ZX7R Dynojet, can etc Comp cover - £420
'03 AC Cobra (Dax) 350bhp + 175 bhp NO2 £28k - £510
'92 Golf GTi 8v 140k miles standard.......... - £800

WTF???????

Ludicrous isn't it? So any one know of any good insurers or VW specialists etc?

Ive tried Liverpool Victoria which got down to £484 but I still think it's excessive for an 11 year old 140k standard 8v.

Yours in desperation

Cheers Lad.

I need to hit the phone soon as expired and 'grace' period about up. If you have any more ideas or Admiral details it would be appreciated.

Ta.

Admiral did me £245 for a '86 Mk2 GTi... thats as a second car though..

Thats 27 years, no points, 5 years NCB, parked on street..

However I do insure my other car (VR6 corrado) with them too... so I figure they decided every time I drive the Golf it reduces the're overall exposure..

Skid.

Similar position myself (sorry only just seen your post). 34 yrs old, V8-GT Esprit 700 quid ish per year, got SILLY quotes for my 95 8v GTI commuter car that has a few mods. Best I found was liverpool victoria... £520.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the ideas. Admiral sound worth a go. Like the idea of this though...

Worth pursueing? Its a '92 so will see. Will browse 'Classic Cars & Cloth Caps' next time I'm in Smiths.

Will let you know how I get on. Not exactly rushing at the mo as the CV's have ingested themselves last week! MF There's me boasting how reliable it was over Xmas!

That'll learn me!

Cheers

Thanks for you help Guys.

FYI went with Elephant. Not ideal but a shade under £300 including some protection. Was pissed off though that I put in an excess of £100, only to find it was voluntary on top of a £150 compulsory excess!

Nevermind. Couldn't be arsed to re-apply else where.

Cheers again
