Suspention are replacments on a VW Passat

Hi all

Just wondering if may other have had problems with suspention arms on a 98 R plate, I have a family member thats had to replace the suspention on his car 4 time all round
Does any one know if there was a problem with this year, bush ware or ball joint failure.
Any info will be much appreciated

If the suspension is of similar design to the Audi A4 of that era then yes, there was a problem with ball joint failure. There was a recall for the A4, I don't know about the Passat though.

Thanks for that Puff Puff he has had to change the suspention a few time front and back
