VW Transponder keys

Hate going near VW dealers... biggest bunch of i know! Does anyone know the cost of a Vw Polo transponder key for a '96 car? I have one working key, but you know what sods law is like.
Can anyone else supply one? or do i have to go and get raped and pilaged!

My wife recently got two from a stealer for her '96 Golf Mk3 (after the original one snapped), it worked out at about £30 per key...

I'd be really suprised if it's anything other than 'stealer only' to be honest...

Did you get sorted ? Was it a main stealer you had to visit? Let us know as I have simular prob..

Only got 1 key for me Bora, been quoted my VAG £130 and loss of car for 1/2 day to chip the key to the car.

Any decent locksmith can cut aftermarket transponder keys now. £30 give or take
