Surprisingly the search shows nothing for S8.

I'm liking the look of these. It seems possible to get a tidy pre 2000 one with not too many miles for around £5k.

I'm assuming running costs to be high and no doubt if it were to go wrong a cold sweat would be likely.

Any owners with views they would like to share?

My main worry is that it would feel like a (fast) bus and not be worth the running costs.

Try one and you will see what the fuss is all about. Running costs should not be stupid but buy carefully.

Apatr from all the usual things when buying a used car

Check carefully for oil leaks from gear box and diffs + uneven tyre wear (suspension geometry can be expensive)noises from transmission and drive chain (should all be quite)& all the electrics work and badly repaired body damage panel gaps should be even and tight(aluminium space frame construction)

For a movie shot look at Ronin with Robert D'niro. The stunt driver sat in the boot with steering and pedal extensions.

Good luck

It did look good being thrown around with 4 (or was it 5) up and boot full of guns.

That must have been an interesting few days work for the stunt man...

Hi

Owned one for a couple of years (a couple of years ago) - fantastic car and I would love another one!.. Doesn't feel like a big car when you drive it enthusiastically. Main dealer servicing was only a couple of hundred quid and never had any issues with it.

Yeahhhhhhhh when you see the stunt with bobby driving in the underpass in a peugeot 405 its a RHD car, Robert D with a dummy steering wheel in the passenger seat. No wonder he looks petrified!!

S8 is a seriously good drive albeit a bit firm if you think you are in a limo.

I was just about to get my wallet out till that bit.

I have no problem with white but it has to suit the car. Don't think it works on a big saloon.

Up the budget and go for one of the Final Edition S8's - more toys, RS wheels

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/637634.htm

Looks OK - but I couldn't live with the red leather!
