Q7 or Discovery??? Help!
Discussion
I'm on with updating the family bus, we currently have a Volvo xc90 and it's ready for a change.
I'm currently torn between an Audi Q7 and a Land Rover Discovery.
From browsing with my notional £25k you get a much newer better equipped and lower millage Discovery.
As I say it's family use plus I use it to go to work when I don't want to take the Gallardo so I want a bit of luxury too.
Part of me likes the ruggedness of the Discovery, then part of me says their and ugly brute and I can't see the wife in a short skirt and heels in one, on the other hand I have had several Audis and loved them, but the Q7 looks a bit big and bland but maybe has a younger image?
Any experience especially if anyone has had both, greatly appreciated.

If it's image your after you'll be better with the Q7 but if your looking for a good all-rounder that'll get the missus and kids safely to school and back home in the sort of weather were having at the moment then it's the disco all the way, no question. The disco also has a few nice goodies.I'm currently torn between an Audi Q7 and a Land Rover Discovery.

My missis is wanting an XC90. We need a family bus with 7 seats and four wheel drive. What do you think of the volvo?
The XC90 has been superb, can't fault it at all, very comfy, relialbe and extremely practical with some great little ideas.Had it 4 1/2 years and ready for a change as much as anything else.
You won't beat a Landi off road, but I doubt you are going to be driving up a mountain or across a field every day. They are also very plastic inside (even the top of the range ones). The Q7 is much more luxurious and will cope with the types of weather we have had recently. My parents swapped from a Disco to Q7 at the end of 07 and have not looked back. If the most your journeys will through at it is a kerb or two on the school run go for the Q7. They are both great, but the Q7 is more car like while the Disco is a pur 4x4. IMHO!
tried both end '07, much prefered the Disco, which i bought and have run for the last 14 months, it's been 100 pcnt reliable and it's a brilliant all-round. ok it's not fast, but when it's loaded up with the family thats not an issue, and it will comfortably cruise in excess of 90 and is much quicker off the mark than the old xc90. the interior ambiance is rugged , but brilliant for the family the ergonomics are first class, and it's loaded with kit (HSE). also the 3rd row of seats are suitable for adults which is more than can be said for the Q7 / X5.... as the family wagon ably supporting the rest of the fleet i wouldn't have any other SUV, money no object.
