Don't be put off. IIRC the door is the same as my Audi 80 and if you take the screw out the end of the trim (slam panel end) the two screws off the grap handle trim and then undo the two bigger screws underneath that you should find the door panel lifts vertically and comes off. (Watch for wiring at this point.)
