At the moment I've got a 997 C4S and love it. The thing is I quite fancy a change and am considering the R8. I did do a search on questions like this, but couldn’t find any. So feel free to send me in the direction of those.
Anyway I’ve just got a few questions about the R8. Firstly what’s’ it like to drive compared to the 911? Is there much of a noticeable performance difference between them? What’s I like to live with on a daily basis? The 911 is brilliant, can be parked just about anywhere; can handle speed bumps and multi-story car parks, but can the R8? Also what sort of mpg should I be expecting? Now it isn’t the be all and end all but it would be quite depressing if it couldn’t get in to double figures. Finally how much realistically is it going to loose in the next year? I know all cars are plummeting but will it be any worse than the Porsche? Will the V10 version send the V8 prices down?

Thanks for the help

If you are serious and it sounds like you are, then the dealers will be biting your hand off all the way to the arm pit for a sale.
Pretty sure both Audi & Porsche will be keen to assist in your choice....especially in the next two months
But I would suggest you find a premium reseller like Tom Hartley, top555 or similar and get them to arrange a proper extended test drive of the two cars.

Motorway yes... round town prob 14-18 depending on how its driven - although I have seen 7 in the cold with everything on and sitting in miles of traffic...

On the other notes... I use it as my daily driver - its quite possibly the best car I have ever had; Completely useable, easy to park handles multi storys and bumps with no problems at all.. Visibility is good too.

I really cant fault the thing to be honest; Resale wise I would expect them to take a hit with the v10 - Id also expect them to lose a good 10/20% over the next year (IMHO) just looking at the market there are a few around for the 65k mark (low spec) but that is quite a bit of car for the money with audi reliability. I have done 4k miles in mine in the last few months and it hasnt missed a beat - short of drinking a few l's of oil...

If you have any specifics please pm me - more than happy to answer; but in short there are a lot of people who knock them who I can probably assure you have never owned/driven one. I bought it for a specific need and it fills it perfectly - much more so than I had imagined.

I mean you cant go over them at full pelt.. but doesnt have any scraping or said issues like I get in the fezza... Being quite wide tracked also helps... I was immensely suprised myself tbh!
