I have a 2006 Audi A4 with the symphony sound system. I want to connect my iPod to the car so that I can use the steering wheel controls and the head unit to view what music I want to listen to through the dash board. Is there anything out there that will allow me to do this?

I have been asking this question on Tyresmoke, AudiSRS & RS246.com. I have a Symphony II without steering wheel controls. So far I have had a suggestion of:

1/ Denison Gateway 100 or 300. Imitates 6cd changer. 1st 5 discs become the playlists then the 6th is the entire library. All controlable from the head unit controls, so presumably from the steering wheel controls too. You can either have a feed into the CD changer wiring which will give the best sound quality. The connecter which allows you to keep use of the CD changer is extra.

An easier connection is the FM feed that taps into your antenna lead. Downsides are loss of sound quality and the need to have more than one frequency tuned in due to inevitable interference from radio stations as you move from one area to another.

2/ Harman Kardon Drive + Play II. Needs separate controller so steering wheel controls are redundant but HK controller is much more user friendly and you can access SO much more of the iPod's functions. No good for me as I don't think it's compatible with my 6th gen 80GB Classic.
