Anyone had a good look at prices of late?
I see Wrexham VW have 58 plate with delivery miles for £18890.
My local stealer has a 55 plate for £14895. The new price makes the older ones look over priced. And it is in the over popular bright blue colour.
Stratsone have a DSG on an 06 for £15 something. And its black. But a DSG.

Want to part ex my CLK conv so would prefer a dealer.

Plenty of brand new cars around circa £20k.Not good for me as my 06 car has taken a hit but great bargains.Ive even been tempted to sell mine and upgrade to a brand new car,but Ive not had a moments trouble with the one I already have and have never even had to put any oil in it over the 23k miles its been driven.

They really are a great car for £20k brand new.I drive an awful lot of different cars in my job but the R32 still puts a smile on my face and satisfys every time I drive it,plus it copes with family duties(child seats, prams pushchairs etc),is easy to park etc etc.

Heard of brand new base spec 3 door R32s available for 15k, it seems they are desperate to get rid of them.

Gazza - email me for dealer names.

These dealers dont seem that hungry. OK I have only emailed them (one last week), not heard a dickie back. I am sure these cars (GTIs, R32s etc) will still sell - they just need to be sold. Ignoring emails is not going to warm up a lead into a sale. OK OK I ought to phone....

I've seen a few R32 going cheep but all of those had cloth interior. Ever thought about the cost of a custom leather job.

ebay/scrappers will have the seats pop up pretty regularly and will bolt straight in (although electrics may or may not work without additional hassle depending on if all prewired or on order)

Yeah you can usually find OEM leather interiors from Golfs on eBay or at the breakers yard. I wouldnt buy a R32 though, they are only cheap becauese they cost so much to run. The only thing they have going for them is the sound of that V6, a ED30/Pirrelli GTI would be a better buy and they remap to 300bhp...

The reason they are cheap is VW dumped 750 of them on to the market at the end of production.

nope, sales of the r32 fell off a cliff back in the autumn with high fuel prices, VW UK had over 900 in stock or committed with no buyers, so have been dropping prices agressively. knock on impact on 2nd hand values too.

No doubt they are going cheap and still are, even though fuel prices have dropped the mpg is still limited and people can't justify the 400 odd pound in road tax per year.

On the plus side you get so much car for the money it's crazy!
