Strange grinding noise on Audi coupe
Discussion
I try not to carry passengers Chris; they slow you down and get in the way. I thought maybe wheel bearing too though, except I'd expect it to make a bit of noise even in a straight line if it was on the way out. And I think it would only grind if it was completely collapsed. Dunno about CV joint problems . . .

Chris - the grinding is apparent regardless of the amount of lock on the wheel and only disappears once the car has returned to a straight line after its leftward trajectory. If I didn't know better, I'd swear it sounds like a tyre catching on the arch or something similar (but it ain't that).
I'm gonna check the exhaust mountings out this weekend and take it from there.

What type of Coupe have you got?
If you are front drive only please ignore
I had a similar noise on my Ur Quattro. When I turned left at speed there was a grinding noise.
It turned out to be the exhaust catching the propshaft / rear diff casing. The path of the mid and rear pipes goes very close to the rear drivetrain gubbins. Repostioned the exhaust and problem solved.
