Knocking sound in A8

My 2004 A8 has developed this irritating knocking sound at the front left. On anything other than smooth roads it sounds like there's something loose up front, but on inspection (I can't really check suspension) there is nothing I can see which would cause it. It happens on cobbles, but weirdly not going over speed bumps.

Could this be the wishbones/bushes etc, or more likely to be loose trim? Anyone else had this?

Hi Yes had exactly the same it was a anti roll bar bush or drag link bush(mechanic said one thing the receptionist called it the other) replaced under warranty

Thanks AWG, I thought it would be something like that. My car is out of warranty, but has the 5 year service pack. Can you recall what it would cost to pay for it myself?

Hi Sorry no as it was completed under warranty i have no idea of cost.

Hope its not too late. Yes same problem. Had all the bushes replaced but not Audi parts as they were 4 times the price. 8 bushe cost about 250 plus the labour.
