I want to sell my Car but every garage I take it too are offering way below what I am expecting. It is a yellow Leon Cupra R thats done 21K. It is immaculate inside and out. Full main dealer service history.

They are only offering me about £8300. Parkers guide recommends that I should be able to part ex my car with a value around £9750 which I something I was expecting. I know the "Book" price isn't normally as good as Parker but I didn't expect it to be that low. The only thing I can think of is they are looking at the cupra and not the cupra r.

Has anybody else been in a similar position lately or can give me some advise?

It's a very tough time to sell at the moment and dealers basically just want to sell cars and not get any P/X at the moment.

It would make more sense to sell your car privately, unless you need to sell it in a hurry, as Leon Cupra Rs have quite a following.

its because its yellow mate,i had a yellow cupra and when i came to sell it no one wanted it they always go for red or black which is a shame as they do look nice in yellow but that puts 90% off buyer off.

Thats strange - I work in a SEAT dealership and the figure you have been offered sounds a little low but about right at the moment, we had someone in that was offered 9k for his '56 Cupra new shape (Guessing the garage didn't want his car!) but the retail in a garage for the R at the moment would be about £9500 - £10,000 for that spec and they try and work on about a £1250 margin to prep and warranty a car.

I'd say the figure isn't far off - plus we find the yellow ones sell better than Red or Black, it all depends on the area...

All dealers are offering utterly stupid trade in offers.

My car is CAP clean tare value £16000, been offered anywhere between £22k and £8k.

Forget about what they are offering you for it instead do the deal on the car you want first with a good 20 to 25% under asking price.

Or look at the total cost to change.

Remember all cars have plumeted recently - sadly you have an odd colour too which doesnt help matters.

Care to share why you want/need to change your car? It is the worst economic time since the great depression & car sales at their lowest in history... seems your either lucky, a big risk taker, fancy getting in a new car before the financing dries up or totally out of touch with reality - or plain silly/stupid.
