A2 running on 2 cylinders HELP!!!
Discussion
Our A2 TDI has begun running very roughly with various warning lights coming on. It started with a lot of roughness whilst warming up. The ABS and brake failure light then came on whilst the engine was warming up, but all could be cured by stopping and starting when the engine was at full temperature. This does not now work, but the local garage said the diagnostice were showing intermittent failure of injector 1 and ABS fault !! Has anyone out there got even the slightest clue as to what this all means and if the ABS and rough running have anything in common? Performance when running badly is poor with 0-60 in approx 45s and an inability to get up steep hills. Aaaaaaaaargh.
The good side is that the scameras will never get me!
cheers

It's difficult to know exactly what's causing your problems without having the error codes from the car's CPU - When the garage scanned your car (using vag.com or a similar diagnostic program) they should have read these error codes from the car's CPU.
These codes are stored by the car's CPU when a specific component "acts up" or fails. The Garage should then be able to identify and fix any problem fairly easily.
If you can get these codes, you can reference them against the ross-tech online wiki

Ross tech are the company who make and sell the diagnostic software vag.com, their wiki will give you the possible causes of the specific fault code.
I had a similar issue with my S3 and the ABS / ESP lights coming on, I scanned my car using vag.com and it turned out to be a fault with the brake pedal switch which I've now replaced.
Hope it all makes sense & good luck
