Brake pads and disc for my Mk4 1.6SR - recommendations?

My pads are lipped and making a squeaking noise when I go round corners. They are to be replaced soon anyway, so going to do them before my MOT. For discs, I am limited to 256mm on the front, due to the hubs having 256mm build in carriers apparently.

Is it best to spend money on pads and fluid as discs are discs? I've been told just to buy GSF (or VAGParts etc.) standard discs and some more expensive branded pads. Is this true? And has anyone any recommendations? I dont want to go over the top, I've got around £100 to spend on the 4 discs and pads.

Zimmerman discs from GSF and fast road pads, also from GSF.

Thanks for response, I cant see anything on website with Zimmerman or fast road... do you have a part number or can point me in the right direction?
