Help ! A4 1.8T Temperature Gauge

Can anyone help shed any light on my temperature gauge issue from previous experience?

I have owned this faultless A4 1.8 turbo for 8 years + & its now 11 years old, however, the temp guage doesn't register anymore for past 8 months seemingly without any issue on performance, heating, or fuelling outwardly.

I replaced the obvious temp sender without anychange. The guage does still appear to move marginally when stationary from 60 to 65, so its not broken copmpletely.

Any ideas before it costs me a fortune in investigative bills ?

Perhaps your thermostat or maybe even the gauge itself?

had one of these a few years ago, similar roblem, the wire had a break in it on the plug where in meets the sender on top of the engie
