Hi all,

I'm currently looking at mk5 GTI's as my next car and am in the process of trying to work out what options are available / desirable. I'm getting there but am unsure how to tell whether a car has the midline or highline computer. Does it really matter anyway? What does the highline do that the midline can't?

Highline is a must, it allows you to change a number of settings that otherwise can only be set by hooking up VAG.COM.

The way to identify Highline is that the screen is larger and it should come up with a picture of the car when you oopen door / boot.

GTI options on my list:

DSG (with paddles)
ARMREST
SAT NAV
PDC
FOLDING MIRRORS
XENONS! (A MUST!!)
18" MONZA ALLOYS
FULL LEATHER

Evrybody is different, some ppl dont like comfort stuff like leather, so this is all my opinion.

Highline is the screen bit in the middle of the speedo/rev, highline gives data/figures that cover the whole screen, the other the top bit is just blank, have no idea why! My GTI had it, my R32 doesnt, i dont miss it at all!!.

That's pretty much the same spec as ours - brilliant car with all that on it, very refined.
