Hey I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my old C4 A6 and getting something with a bit more power. Since I grew up in the states(and currently live in germany) we never got the RS4 and its a car I've been lusting after for a while. I was curious though if they had the same reliability issues the S4's of that era had? I've been trying to find an FAQ or something but I really haven't found much. I also somewhat glanced an the biturbo RS6 as they're about in the same price range and curious if they're worth considering as well.

I have just sold my B5 S4 ater 3 years of fault free ownership, fantastic cars and RS246 was an invaluable resource during that time.smile

I've had mine for three years - and it's been absolutely bullet proof. Pretty much daily use - and not a thing wrong with it.

Awesome cars.

Used regularly and treated with respect they're not too bad - RS246 really is a mine of info but avoid one with starship mileage and look for one with the very best service history you can.
