Hi, I have just bought a 2003 S3 and am being offered the Audi Customer care programme. This basically includes a leather protection treatment and bodywork (anti stone chip?) protection, plus a load of other guff. But the main attraction is Guaranteed asset protection. Essentially this means that if the car is written off and my insurer pays me market value - this programme will pay the difference between market value and what I actually paid for the car.
Does anyone have any experience of this programme. The cost is about 700 pounds and the cover would last 3 years. Its a lot of money but I suppose it can save me thousands if the car is stolen in 2 or 3 years time.

Sorry, cheekily putting this thread to the top. Might well be that noone has any experience of this policy, but I need to give the dealer an answer this afternoon and I'd love a second opinion.
I'm all

Try posting the question on rs246.com forum - lots of S3 (and other performance Audi) owners there.

Not sure if its the same thing, but we were just given (FOC) a care package by an Audi dealer with the nearly new A2 we bought. Covers interior trim and paintwork etc. End of month, targets to reach.

How long you planning on keeping the car? If a long time (3 years plus) then the stone chip/seat treatment is probably worth it. If not, then it's not.

As for the rest of this programme. Depends how lucky you feel. The car itself has a mechanical warranty. Is it garaged? Do you live in a nickable area? Do you plan on having an accident? OK, do have you a track record of having accidents? Nothing personal - but I think you know what I mean.

Like all warranties, Audi will be making money from this.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. I hate being over insured!

Sounds like Gap insurance plus a paint sealant.

Have a look around, I'm pretty sure Audi won't be the cheapest around. Try a few of the more active Audi forums such as www.tyresmoke.net they may know a bit more.
