Front wheel noise - Help
Discussion
Hi, I have a 94 Golf for my daily commute, currently on 140k miles.
Today driving along the motorway I started getting a loud noise from the front wheels (I think), it sounded like driving over a rumble strip more than anything. It went away and returned a few times along the way. Steering either way didn't appear to effect it. If I stop it goes away, but soon comes back on the motorway (doesn't appear to return at any set speed).
I suspect a front wheel bearing but jacked it up quickly and their was no obvious play in either front wheels.
Any other ideas what it could be?
Cheers
