Dealer doesn't do hand overs at the dealership ,they take you to a nice hotel/restaurant of your choice for lunch and then delivery the car on a lorry after you have finished lunch ,
supposed to make the hand over nice and relaxed ( i won't eat much ) .

and as march the 1st is a saturday dealer doesn't want to hand it over ,as they will be busy with all the new reg cars sales

Well I know the R8 has good brakes! hehe

I saw one nearly get wiped out yesterday after some idiot jump the lights infront of an R8 on the A316, luckily the brakes are good and his reactions were quick otherwise it would have been well and truely smashed up.

Lunch / fattening new owners up?

Is that Audi's way of adding weight to the car so that the speed improves throughout the first couple of days?

Don't remember lunch being on the options list,,,,

Anyway, why can't he do dinner on the 1st March?

I wouldn't like to wait 2 extra days for my new toy, especially if I'm buying it!! Stuff the lunch, let's do a handover on a handling track!!

Lunch is F.O.C
If he did the handover on the saturday we would have all our 4 kids with us and i don't think doing the handover in Mcdonalds would be very successful wink

anyway can you imagine the greasy little finger prints all over the lovely carbon and paint

Quick question what spec have you gone for?
Also are you having the car prepped/valeted/polished by audi or are you going to get them to send it to a specialist to try avoid any swirls in the paint?

I unfortunately i over spec'd it (ticked nearly all the options boxes )
went for the extended leather with colored stitching and tried to add the carbon inside pack in october but audi said No as they are having problems with there carbon suppliers.

i have had lots of discussions with my dealer about the valet as i was going to get Pro Valet in ,but the dealer has said that they can polish the car in either swissvax or zymol ,don't really know what to do ?

sleeping alright at the moment (no night nurse needed yet)

Personally I would suggest get the professionals in.Nothing against the audi guys but they are not equipped or trained to valet the car to the same high level as the professional valeters.
What paint colour have you gone for?

On waiting list for V10.Starting to get a little impatient though so dep on which comes first and a couple other things its between the R8 and nissan gtr which is in theory faster but less so almost makes sense over the R8. Have been told ill be told when the R8 V10 is officially launched though which i expect is going to be next month or so but not to expect del till 09-10?
