air bags in mk4 r32
Discussion
Hi, just a quick one. Can someone clear up a question for me? My wife has a mk4 r32 with a faulty curtain air bag. The alarm sounds and lights on dash. One vw hit has said its ok to drive until we get the cash as the other bags will work if she punts it. Another has said all the bags switch off as a safety measure? Any ideas who is right? Cheers!

Nobody seems to know really. When i was doing my training they said when your lights on, no airbags will work. Then the workshop controller said 100% they will and was so sure about it he told me to go crash a car with the airbag light on, if they deployed i paid for a new car and if they didnt he would. i declined his offer lol.
FT...where in the East Midlands are you? email ed@autops.co.uk he may be able to give some advice/cost to fix - i'd guess they are cheaper than stealers
