Just bought a golf gti mk5 after selling my porscxhe, bit of a stop gap till i make up my mind between a 997 ars4 and a new m3!
Couple of questions.
1. How difficult are the alloys to refurb! already done one of them!
2. How easy is it to retro fit sat nav
3. How easy is it to retro fit xenons
4. The golf came with a milltek exhaust which i need to get rid of as its doing my head in! is it possible to keep the milltek back box but replace the rest of the system with the original? will this help the constant droning noise??

All in all i think the car is great and its certinly keeping me amused whilst looking for something else!

Glad your enjoying the MK5 GTi. Mine is also a stop gap for an M3 but probably for a couple of years!

The Sat nav is realatively easy to swap although expensive. Pop over to vwnavi.com for more info there.

Depending on which alloys you have wil depend on price. I know a lot of people are buying replica rims to replace scuffed Monza 2's and they look identical.

Retro fitting zenons is meant to be a nightmare due to the extra wiring needed but kits do exist.

Your best bet for the exhaust if you really want rid is to swap with someone on a normal GTI. Get them to cover the fitting costs only and you will get yourself a taker no problems.

I'd possibly even swap with you of my 07 GTi...

Or just have teh resonated centre section fitted, Milltek offer two. The noisey one is great with your foot flat to the floor but as you say annoying in daily driving.

I can tell you for free that they're made of chocolate and don't much like bumpy roads or potholes frown
