Hello all,

I have a 53 reg Audi A4 2.5TDi with a rather odd problem. MOST of the time when I start the car from cold, and sometimes from warm, the buzzer sounds and the "BRAKES" warning flashes up on the MFD. Then it disappears...

Now if you're low on fuel, the buzzer goes and the fuel symbol flashes up on the MFD. And it STAYS on. So Shirley the brake warning would stay on? But it doesn't. Not a dickybird.

Please help Mr. Confused here. Garage has plugged it in and no brake faults logged.

Cheers then!

Have you checked the brake fluid level and the sensor as this can cause it to flash up sometimes, other than that maybe a dodgy connectiion to the brake pad wear limit sensor

Thanks a lot for the tip. I think that since it's doing this fairly regularly I'll pop it into the garage and see what they say. I don't think anything's wrong, just very annoying- Especially since I am trying to sell and the first thing they see on a test drive is a big warning sign beeping away!!!
