I would have thought that the TDI 170 engine is already quite close to the maximum that is practical to achieve from a 2 litre diesel without getting 'tetchy' and overstressed.

they go over 200bhp and apparently worth doing, the guy that does my remaps can do them. think from memory cost was £300 not as straight forward to do as the 140"s something to do with the ecu having tamperproof bolts iirc ?

Gents,

Thanks for the replies.

I was unsure as to whether the 170 was just the same set-up as the 2.0 140 but with a different OEM ECU Map. I was hoping that it may have a different turbo so will be able to easily be tuned passed 200bhp and 300lb/ft. Does anyone know the exact difference between the 140 and 170?

Jeff,

Who do you use for remaps? Any chance I could have their details please? I have contacted Jabbasport but they don't offer a remap yet on the 170.

My other option is to go for the 2.0TFSI in S Line Special Edition trim, this is already at 220bhp but can be remapped by most places up to around 260bhp and 300lb/ft.

Jules.

Jim at Star Performance has a demo Seat Leon 2.0 TFSI which is running around 290bhp.

Bit of a hike for you,but couple of friends had theirs done at Drivers in Glasgow and they are delighted with the results....although I think they were mostly the 140's
