I have put my name down for one of those, but see how i go with the S5 in the Interim.

£45k with a massive spec for a brand new car looks pretty good to me !

I wish you well but a one year old S5 will be trading at £30k (-£15k) when the RS4 comes out (if indeed it is a year!). Better keep the S5 for three years and only drop another £10k (max) over the next two years.

Not sure whether to recommend you read the latest Evo magazine or not to be honest.

After a string on M3s, I can see the S5 experience being an unhappy and boring one. There won't be the driving thrills there for sure.

I may be wrong however. At least if you do get bored quickly you may be able to sell it on for at least its new value if there's a waiting list.

This is the point. If i dont like it after a couple of months i should get my money back and i'll look for an RS4 then till the RS5 comes out.

Ignore them Stimmers!
The S5 looks stunning in the pictures recently doing the rounds in the mags. I think the design is subtly aggressive but also very elegant. I also thought the price seemed comparatively good considering the spec.
Any idea when you will receive your car?

Went down to my dealer today to introduce myself. They told their book for S5's is full for 16 months and that for the first year alone Audi are going to limit the numbers coming into the UK. Plus the majority of orders will come once the car is in the showrooms and on the road. I was also told the RS5 would be a number of years away.

I was told they expect the S5 prices to hold very firm for 12 months, prices will only start to drop once there are sufficient S5's on the used market and there is no wait for a new one.

My car has a build slot and has gone to the factory. they factory has told the dealer to expect it in the middle to end of August (mine is the 1st one) and as the new reg comes out in Sept, they want to keep mine in the showroom to show potential customers until they can register it on the new plate.

All in all im very happy with my order

You press a button to start the car and you only have to have the key fob in your pocket for it to work

eek You'll allow people off the streets to climb all over your brand new car risking small (and large!) scratches!

Tell them to store it else where it will be out of harms way, all IMO ofcourse.

Oh, and as per my recent post, make sure they dont give you a brillant black one instead of our ordered phantom like they did me!!!!
