The drivers door switch that triggers the interior light and audilbe lights on buzzer is intermittant on my Mk4 Golf. I've had a look around the aperture but can't seem to locate the switch. Any ideas as to where I'll find it please?
Thanks

It's integral with the door catch inside the door, a microswitch rivetted onto the bottom of the lock motor. To solve, you really need to replace the door catch - which is pretty difficult to get at.
If you do it yourself, follow the steps in the Haynes manual, but make sure you get the metal spring the holds the door handle shut in the correct position. If you get it wrong, you will have to dismantle the entire thing once more....

Great, just what I wanted to hear!
Thanks for the advice, I'll try some WD40 and if that doesn't work I guess I'll just have to put up with it
