Hi lads, need your advice on high milage S3
Discussion
Hi, im looking an 2003 S3 which has done 114k, it has full audi service history. Anything I should especially ask about this type of milage for this car ?
ALSO, I have noticed that people are having trouble selling s3's or seem to be, I ring up lots of people who have had their cars up for a while and they are still got them for sale, is it because of the new car tax laws ?

S3 models of that era won't be subject to the rip off band G as this only applies to vehicles which emit more than 225g of CO2 and were registered after 23 March 2006. The new S3 doesn't fall into this category either.
As for why they're not selling, and what to look for on the one you're talking about, I'll leave that to someone in the know!

The 1.8T engine in those cars are fairly bullet proof. Just check that its been fully serviced.
Weak areas are electrics (coils packs and windows etc), water pumps (often changed with the cam belt) - should be done well before mileage you state.
Has it been remapped - could reduce the life of the turbo although should still be okay at that mileage.
