Finally after months of indecision and the money becoming available, I've decided to go for the RS4...did want the M5 but can't bear to part with £50k for an 18 month car

Currently sorting the deal with the stealer but no deposit placed as yet.....

Have been offered, Black on black RS4 saloon, car not yet registered but in the compound, sat nav(notsure if it's tech pack or not),ipod connection, and he'll fit parrot bluetooth, price is £50k and he'll also throw GAP in also 12 months tax and full tank of fuel....

Is this any good or should I go elsewhere? If so then where?!

Lovely car but for £50k not sure I'd want a Parrot aftermarket kit on my dash.
Squeeze the dealer for some more £££ off ?

Don't get the parrot kit, you can get the proper Audi bluetooth kit retrofitted for approx £400, fully integrated into the SatNav too. Get more money off instead.

thumbup great choice sir !
....is there not an issue with bluetooth kits meaning a steering wheel change away from the RS4 one. Remember reading about it somewhere but can't remember where !

probably will not be tech pack as a) not available anymore b) DVD satnav is £500 option c) tech pack comes with 6CD not ipod and you can't have both from factory

DO NOT fit a parrot, get a proper OEM BT kit fitted, you do not want BT factory fittd anyway as it either comes with an ugly dash cradle or deletes the must-have RS4 wheel.

Get £400 knocked off that price and get OEM BT fitted w/o the cradle

I was in a similar situation recently and did the same thing, went for the RS4 over the M5 - not quite as quick but a much better looker IMO and brand new for the same price as a yr old one... I also think the Audi has a nicer interior (and I wanted an estate and the M5 estate is HUGE and expensive)

Only if you order the factory bluetooth kit with the armrest cradle. If you get it retrofitted you don't need/want to change the steering wheel.

Thanks all to date, Parrot bluetooth idea binned now....

Don't mention the M5!! Been racking my brains on that idea for months, and was supposed to have been in one by now but circumstances around a property sale prevented me...

Still hanker after one but the price to age equation bothers me....

Driven both RS4 and M5 and very impressed by both, though the RS4 was more of a plug and play type car if that makes sense!

As the dealer has offered new at £50k without much haggling, seems there must be some better deals out there yet....

don't know how long you're thinking of keeping it but the thing that put me off the M5 in the end was that the time until its warranty ran out was shorter for the same money and with the tech involved in the car it looked like should anything go wrong it was going to be way way more expensive to fix than the relatively crude RS4 with a conventional box and a non programmable engine

It's not possible to fit an Audi Bluetooth kit once the vehicle has left the factory.

An aftermarket (nemesis branded) car kit can be added - this does not mesh with the Sat Nav, and is not my recomendation...

Go for the Parrot.

Excellent kit. Go for the base kit, not the one with the awful photo screen.

Other option is Nokia bluetooth prep which is under £140 fitted.

Black / Black is OK, but I think I'd pick Silver leather personally! Each to his own.

Oh yes you can. I've had it fitted to mine, genuine Audi parts, supplied by Audi. Works a treat and fully intergrated into the SatNav - better than any Parrot or Nokia kit.

let alone the ridiculous cost and £250 excess of the BMW extended warranty on M cars - whihc is why I bought an RS4 over an M3, M5 is a lovely car but far too grown up for me, my Dad would like one

Well, it's now happened...

Put the deposit down today on a Black Avant that was sitting in the showroom unregistered....

It's Phantom black with the buckets,Tech Pack with IPOD connector, GSM phone prep and the privacy glass....12 months tax, full tank fuel (should get me home at least!!)

Now i'm excited as i've got two weeks to wait before my dosh arrives in my current account to pay fer it....at least they're moving it from the showroom to stop all and sundry climbing in and out of it...though i nearly walked out on the deal when their tosser of a business manager tried to persuade me into a temporary finance deal to drive away before end of the month......hellfire the guy couldn't take no for an answer....

think I got a cracking deal if I say so myself!

While I'm here, couple of questions, the car i've gone for has tech pack, when did they stop doing tech pack and how do i check the car has the adaptive lights, just want to check a fast one hasn't been pulled by the dealer as quoting tech pack when it just has sat nav........

M5 idea now binned for the moment........hope I've not bored you but this is the 1st new car I've ever bought not to mention the most expensive!
