A3 Centre Armrest Broken / Stuck
Discussion
Hi All,
The centre armrest in the Mrs car seems to be broken.
An 02 A3 1.8, with the suade interior.
The armrest is in the upright position (ie. pushed back & facing up to roof).
The Upper button works to get into the area where cassettes etc can be stored, but bottom button to release it and allow me to pull it down is not working at all.
Guess there is a spring or some kind of latching mechanism inside, but any idea's on how I can fix it?
I have taken off the two disc/covers eitherside but looks like special tool to remove the main bolt.
Thought I would ask before causing any damage.
Thanks,

If its the same unit and problem as the 'stuck up' RS4/A4 armrest problem, then yes it can be fixed. I fixed mine a couple of weeks ago using this article www.audiworld.com/tech/int56.shtml
This article is an abbreviated version including the steps to fix it in place in the car.
