OK, it's a dull subject. Sorry.....

I need to occasionally fit a roof box to my S4 Avant and the Halfrauds standard cross rails are clunky affairs that crudely clamp to the existing A4 roof bars - probably doubling the drag coefficient in the process.

I noticed that the A4 roof bars have 4 sets of dimples on the inside which seems to imply that it may be possible to screw fit some neat Audi rails without the huge clamps.

Anyone got Audi roof rails? Are they a nice unobtrusive fit? How much?

Was in Audi dealership last week and saw some pleasantly neat cross members on a showroom A4, no doubt however you will need a bridging loan to buy them!

Get Thule roof bars they are very good quality but they are clunky and will increase mpg (as will the roof box) so only leave them on as long as you need to.

Don't buy from Halfords they can be had much cheaper if you google or ebay.

£140 inc VAT.

Available in black or aluminium colour.

Ask your dealer if they'll do a bit of discount..

Alternatively - some always pop up on e-bay at reasonable amounts.
