Audi A6 3.0Tdi Le Mans or Merc CLS 320Cdi as family car?
Discussion
We're looking to get the wife out of the 4x4 scene and into a more normal family car.
We've got 2 small kids (5 and 2) and we're looking at either a Merc CLS 320 Cdi or an Audi A6 3.0Tdi Avant Le Mans.
The Audi is clearly the sensible option but she fancies the CLS more.
The worry is, how practical is a CLS going to be on a day to day basis with kids?
The boot is massive, no issue there, it's the rear access and visibility on the CLS that concern.
Any expierance of either welcomed.

I just had to make that very choice and ended up with the Audi. Ilove the mers shape but felt it would be able to transport more than 2 in the back, and occasionally my 2 kids have a friend tag along.
I love the audi, it handles better and is very well built. The Le Mans edition looks good with the 19" rims, £500 on a chip gives you 0-60 in 6 secs. Audi ride is hard in comparison with the merc.

I have an A6 as well with three teenage kids and there is plenty of leg room in the back and the boot swallows all the accompanying paraphenalia. You know it makes sense. Mine is also chipped and it does a 14.4 second quarter mile. The only problem is that occasionally you have to clean the air filter as I find BMW's get caught up in the mesh!
