New A5 with 'der sporty feeling'

Audi's A5 gets the S line treatment

Audi S5
Audi S5
Audi has released details of the S line package for its forthcoming big coupé, the A5. The kit has been developed as usual by quattro GmbH, the firm’s performance wing.

The ‘S line sports package plus’ consists of a sports suspension package with a 10mm drop in ride height and a choice of either five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels or 19-inch 20-spoke designs. A 20-inch seven-spoke option will follow later in the year.

Inside, sports seats are fitted with electrically adjustable lumbar support, and are upholstered in either half or full nappa leather with embossed ‘S’ logo, or an Alcantara/leather mix. Silver stitching is used throughout the interior. A three spoke sports leather steering wheel, cabin inlays in brushed aluminium and S line door sill trims complete the usual Audi interior touches. Misano red and Avus silver are exclusive colours for the new trim level.

The exterior pack comprises unique front and rear bumpers and side vent grilles, with the diffuser insert and lower part of the grill area finished in platinum grey. No pictures are available yet, but contrasting the standard A5 with S5 models should give you a fair idea...

Not long enough for me to save up for one, I suspect .
Would rather have that than an M3 any day... even the new M3

Looks nice but I am still not convinced about who wants such a big two door exec.

Well people seem to buy the 6-series, there's millions of them around.

Being based on the A4, is this not a BMW 3-er size car??

It looks bigger than that to me although maybe that's just a trick of the pictures. Then again isn't the A4 based on the Golf platform? It's certainly bigger than a Golf

Better than the R8, for now maybe they will bling it too...

I like this one, so to the guys that did what they did to the R8...

LEAV OFF... STAY AWAY...DO NOT TOUCH.... etc etc etc..............

This one is in the bag, my bro has a TT and I dislike that with a passion but this might just switch me from the m5 ummm (mid life crisis maybe) but it looks almost exclusive.

it's an A4 coupe. In the metal it seems to be artificially curvy, the coke bottle shape doesn't seem to work!

Is it just me but doesn't the A5 with a black goatee look better than the S5 with a silver goatee?

The silver one is too Jaguar XJ for my liking.

The capslock really isn't that far away. I thought there was talk of only the '4 and '6 lines having RS variants? Which is why we won't have the pleasure of an RS3 etc. Or an RS8 - that would be nice .

go to automobilemag.com and check their studio pix. I think they are the first ones I've seen that give a true sense of the scale of the car. The styling is deceiving, it's about the same size as a 335 and smaller than a CLK!

Agreed. The curves seem too affected, as though they were stuck on afterthoughts. When I buy german cars, I want disciplined hard lines, if I want curves, I'll buy italian.
