Hotter R8 already

Abt reveals first glimpse of tweaked R8

What's the German for 'bling'?
What's the German for 'bling'?
The tuning world is already hard at work developing hotter R8s, and this is Abt’s proposal, set to appear at the Frankfurt show this Autumn.

Although there are only these drawings available at the moment, the car is said to feature plenty of carbon fibre parts, including a new bonnet. The fitment of an Abt supercharger to the 4.2 litre V8 raises power to 523bhp, which Abt estimate will reduce the 0-62mph time to 3.9 sec (from 4.6) and contribute to a top speed just a whisker under 200mph (197mph).

Supercharger means 523bhp
Supercharger means 523bhp
The car will also feature Abt’s adjustable suspension package and bespoke 20” alloy wheels.

Fair point Kevin - it's not like they've messed up anything pretty is it? You wouldn't want them anywhere near an Aston though, would you?

All I can say is there must be a huge amount of cashed-up 13-year olds in Germany to justify these sorts of abominations.

As said above, surely when the V10 engined (from the Lambo) R8 comes out it will make this one depreciate quicker than an M6...?!

Sounds like I'm one of the few people who likes the R8.. After all it does offer an alternative to the boreing old 911.

Im with him, sure it's ugly, but it looks like a decent car, and a good rival to the 911, maybe not sales-wise, but preformance-wise
