Hi all,

Just spec'ing a new A6...need some advice and (hoepuflly) pictures?!

Going for the Oyster Grey (the dark antracite colour) but not sure what leather interior to have.

Black - looks good, but too normal
Cream - from the brochures it looks very dirty cream
BRown - could look amazing, could look rubbish
Grey - hmmm, don't think so on dark antracite car

Anyway, wondered on people's thoughts or experiences? Really need to get ourselves to a dealer but they don't (obviously) have the combinations always (understandably so) so wanted your thoughts if possible?!

THanks all
Tony

I have a stratos blue A6 with the cream leather interior. I find it lifts the interior making it a very pleasant place to be and it is surprisly easy to keep clean even with 3 kids.

We're absolutely screwing them at the moment on price (it's my dad's car it's going to be) and so no room like that unfortunately, nice idea though!

Having had a play with the configurator on the site I do like the idea of the brown. Thanks for the note about the cream interior; sounds like it could be a nice one! That's another for the maybe list, then

I have a new Le mans Special edition in Daytona Grey, pearlescent. Think the black interior suits the car, but can show finger marks on the doors

Tony.

I'm an Audi dealer, so please take my advice.

The Black interior is the only acceptable one for that paint colour.

DO NOT go for brown ( called Amareto actually ) or grey, or any light colour.

The reason I say that is for the Oyster Grey (I've had a couple of them) black is the only one with decent resale-ablity!

To the gentleman with Stratos Blue and cream leather - that;s not bad. However with Oyster grey it would be awful!

Incidentally, Oyster Grey is dark, however make sure you see it in bright sunlight before you choose it - it goes a dark mauve / purple shade in the sun, and is not anthracite. I like it, but many customers do not.
Andrew.

This is not Oyster Grey.

This is Phantom Black.

Hi Andrew,

Many thanks for your comments!

The car is a company bought car and (therefore) company sold one so resale value is totally unimportant. However, thanks for pointing it out nevertheless.

Purely as a "does it look good" is our reasoning for questioning the interior colour (and of course will it wear well)?

Having had a play with the co-ordinator on the Audi website, I must say we're liking the brown interior; Andrew, does that sound wise (and have you ever seen one?)

I typed Oyster into the google images and it came up with that; I thought it just looked slightly dark in the picture rather than being black (hehe)...so, oops! Again thanks for pointing it out though.

Hi Tony.

No probs.

Should you choose Amaretto leather, please choose another paint colour, a more neutral shade would be best. Phantom Black, Silver or White are the only ones I think will go with Amaretto.

Oyster Grey = black leather every time!

Sorry Nicktowe - you were misled somewhere...

There's not £10,000 to play with in these!

Either that or you bought a petrol...

They can't give them away!

Hi all

Thanks again for the thoughts. Decision made and we are going with black. Thanks

We've done very well with the price actually - won't say how well, but VERY pleased and it's turned it from bit-expensive to spot on thumbup

I wasn't misled, added up the options and i know what i paid. The car is a Le Mans Special Edition 3.0l tdi quattro.

Its a good car. Still being gentle as have only done 2000 miles to date

Yes that makes sense - the Le-Mans is cheaper than adding the individual options onto a normal S-line model.

Hope you're pleased with it - I had one of these last year. Good piece of kit.
