Monza 2 Alloys vs. Detroits
Discussion
Guys,
I have just found a car at the right price and spec but it comes with a choice of the VW 17's or after market Detroits (i have been told that these are the USA version of the Monza 2's - charcole in colour).
Im very keen to keep the car original - if i did buy it can you get decent Monza 2 replicas, or would it be worth getting the Detroits wheels refurbished to UK colour).
The other option is get the 17's, flog them on ebay and put the money towards some OEM Monza's. The issue is that they are V. expensive new and i have seen none second hand, i also have no idea what i would get for the 17's 2nd hand!!
Any thoughts would be greatfully recieved!

I know this is a style thing but when you drive the golf on the 17" monzas you may well be tempted to keep them - the ride is so good. The 18" upgrade wheels have the same width (so no real grip gain) but a slightly lower profile so they ride quite hard.
I know for some people, the bigger the better, but the 17's don't look too small...
