Just ordered my RS4 Avant and thought I'd say hi!

Changing from a 997 C4S so it will be interesting to compare the two - anybody done a similar change?

Anyway can't wait to pick it up, have owned a previous gen RS4 and an RS6 and loved them. Should get it late May.

Have had mine since November last year and I am loving every minute of it. Neither of you will be disappointed. Enjoy.

8 to 12 weeks, yep although reading some chat on the rs246 forum it could come a bit earlier?! Here's hoping!

Hey Adam, pretty boring I am afraid, went Black with black, recaros (not buckets), tech pack (but ordered seperately as there has been a £1000 reduction in the sat nav cost), privacy glass, sun roof, heated rears, phone in arm rest, cool box, auto dim and tv...

You?

You lucky people! One goes past my office twice a day and sounds like a Corvette. Magnificent car. Im sure the wait will be well worth it.

Did exactly the same swap (though had a 997 Turbo in between!) and exceedingly happy with it. If anything you'll find it slightly quicker in the straight line. It's also a lot less hassle for daily use

You'll miss the 'feel' of the Porsche though - thats why I'm waiting for my GT3 to be delivered!

That's what I'm slightly worried about! Hey ho - you can't have everything!

Mid Life - is that to run alongside the RS? Great combo if so...

I went from a 996 targa (and a 6 month stint with an Exige S) to an RS4 Avant and can thoroughly recommend it. Yes, it clearly doesn't have the steering feel and the taught feel of the Pork or Lotus, but, by God, does it go in all weathers and on all surfaces and bonus is it sounds like a nascar when you give it some. Can't wait to put Miltek exhaust on it in later this year.

The best all rounder I think there is out there at the moment. Not the easiest car to drive smoothly in London traffic but thats the reade off for the bonkers performance.

White Van man seems to approve too, judging by the interest shown in it and the number who tailgate me!

That's spooky,

I've just sold one just like that (except the armrest and cool box)!

pretty similar - my car was pre-ordered by a dealer but was close to my ideal spec and the deal was good:

Phantom black
optics pack (hard to find but really wanted this as it looks great on black)
black RS4 buckets
tech pack (likewise I got them to reduce cost for the current A4 satnav offer)
sunroof
TV
auto dim + sensors
RS4 mats
rear sideguard
armrest

My ideal spec would have added rear blinds (for the baby), ss+ and coolbox (which I will retrofit). Will also retrofit the bluetooth kit as the factory fit is either ugly cradle (dash mount) or deletion of RS4 flat bottom wheel (armrest mount).

Then to Milltek beer

I've just changed my order actually to delete the phone as I didn't realise you lost the nice wheel! Will be retrofitting bluetooth as well... What are you having done at Milltek Adam, exhaust?

Yep. Only problem I have is deciding whether to go for the GT3 or RS

As regards the RS4 - watch the fuel consumption. I know EVO run a longer termer and manage to get into the 20's. I'm solidly in the teens!!

Ah Hello Mr Thorn,

Thought I may find you lurking around here some time...

So the Porsche is going eh? Good job RS4 is much cooler.

Guarantee that when smith sees it he will kick him self for buying that giant trud of a range rover sport.

Beer soon bud,

Oh need to give you a bell about work stuff.

yep the wheel thing made no sense to me, wondered whether the other one had some phone controls on it but then why is it not forced on you if you have the phone in the dash?

Milltek exhaust but after I have got used to std one a bit, plus the thought of having to tell the insurance company, watch them cancel the policy and have to shop around is putting me off. Oh and not hacking off the wife with more spending as she is still wondering why we need a £50k supercar!
