Hi,
I have a mk3 golf GTi 16v and am wondering whether to bother with a sports exhaust. The main reason for this is that the standard exhaust looks pathetic, it has 2 small pipes bending down like a diesel . due to the diameter and how close the pipes are together i cannot just fit an chrome endpiece on so it seems my only option is a sports exhaust.
However...... I have always had a thing about putting a sports exhaust on a small four cylinder because i always though they sounded silly but my friend says 1) its not that small, its a 2liter and 2) the 16v will make a difference and reckons it will sound quite good.

have any of you had/got any experiences or recommendations??? i don't want to go out and buy one only to find i sound like a boy racer (even though i suppose i am )

any advice greatly appreciated.

a back box from someone like magnex would be your best bet, they are pretty good quality and not loud,i had one on a mark 2 and it was a nice sporty note, depends on how much you want to spend really
