My car made an interesting noise at tickover from new which rapidly deteriorated to quite a hard knock which could easily be felt though the whole car by 1500 miles old. They diagnosed it as the dual mass flywheel and have fitted a new one? The noise is still present but feels much less as it was when I recieved the car.

Has anyone felt this in thier car or has anyone had a simalar problem and diagnosed it?

Ben

Thanks for the responses. Both usefull in different ways. Nice to know its an isolated problem and VW are not getting cheap on us. My local garage (where I bought the car) are still looking ino it and replacing bits at no cost so I'm sure we will find the faulty component eventually.

With regards to chipping the cars I'm not sure its really worth the money for such a small gain. Better to get a new ECU for the four wheel drive system and re-set the power distribution to dial out the understeer with some healthy oversteersmokin. That will only cost you about £650 and will give you a much greater increase in performance as well as a bigger grin on your face! I figure since we have the weight acosiated with a four wheel drive system we might as well exploit the benefits!

If your really desperate for more power save your pennies and go for a form of forced inductionbow
