Golf mkIV PD150 ECU upgrade

Hi, im new to this forum, but just wanted to ask. Ive got a golf mkIV PD150 that im thinking of upgrading with an ECU rempap. Has anyone got a Golf mkIV PD150 that theyve upgraded the ECU on, and what do they think? the REVO system seems good.
Is fuel economy and engine wear/ clutch affected when you do this?
