last night my friend had his mk4 golf gti stolen
was a 52 plate in silver
i was under the impresion most new cars were relativly hard to steal?
they broke in through the door handle (that was on the floor)
by passsed the extra immobilisor and a one off prototype steering lock
was in a residential area in marlow buckinghamshire

Mk IVs are relatively easy to break into without setting the alarm off, though I'm not going to explain how.
Getting past the steering lock would have slowed them down for another 60 seconds max but the immobiliser would have needed a real pro.
If they really want it they will take it.
At least they didn't break into the house whilst your mate was asleep & demand the keys with the aid of a blunt instrument
