A4 Stereo problem

Ive just bought a 2002 A4 Avant.
Fine car, lots of MPG, etc.
But
The passenger speaker keeps 'dropping out'
and crackling.
Anyone had this problem, and whats the cure?.

Counld be a bad connection on the speaker , or it could be the headunits amplifier

I have an A3 - had the same problem and took it to the dealer - car went in about 12 times over 6 months and they could not fix it. Told me there is a problem and thats that! weird behaviour. also to add insult they smashed my windscreen and then fixed it by watching an old blue peter show - jokers.

I had a 2003 A4 that had an intermittent fault with all the rear speakers dropping out. After returning it to the dealer on 3 or 4 occassions they eventually replaced the head unit.

Got a 2006 vw golf tdi se here that does a simialr thing with the one of the rear speakers. It sometimes works and sometimes dosent, got a mind of its own. not gonna bother taking back to the dealer.
