Tyres on 2006 Jetta
Discussion
Hi
I'm about to head in to the mountains with my 06 Jetta, how good are the tyres in snowy conditions? Do I need to go and buy winter tyres? They're [Pirelli] Bridgestone Potenzas. Any advice welcome!
EDIT: Pirelli don't make a lot of Potenzas, but Bridgestone seem to.

Why don't you pack a set of chains (or snow socks) for the snow? Depending on what mountains you are going to you amy have to carry them by law.
I'll be taking chains too, but they only become useful when there's quite a bit of snow on the ground. I want to avoid the feeling of sailing backwards down a ravine, looking at my two kids thinking, "probably should have bought some winter tyres".
I've ordered some Falken Eurowinter HS-437s, hopefully they will arrive in time.
