2.7 tt - problem on lift off
Discussion
The problem I have is that when I lift off the throttle, the reaction is quite violent (almost like fuel starvation, or possibly over fuelling). It doesn't happen when the car is cold, under acceleration or at any other time, purely when I take my foot off the throttle.
The local dealer thought it was the fuel pump relay, which they replaced - but this didn't fix the problem
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Mark

It turned out to be the air temperature sensor! The fault was intermittent, but sometimes it thought the air temperature was –36 (ish), therefore adjusted the fuel mixture, making it excessively rich, resulting in the starting and lift off problems. This could have had caused long-term damage to the pistons, valves or head. But everything seems fine!!
Anyway sorted now
However, thanks for the input Jon.
