Wel, I did it, The Lease was up on my MK4 GT TDI-130 yesterday and I went to visit my local VAG dealer to see what worthy replacments were on offer.
Nothing they were able to show me inspired me as a worthy replacment for my trusty Mk4, so I went next door, Test drove a 6 month old Mondeo ST TDCI 155 and was sold.
Picked up the car this morning and im a bit disapointed. the MPG is about 10 - 15 mpg down on the Golf, the power band is very short, and it doesnt feel as numble on the back roads.
The seats are not as supportive as the Golf although they are leather.
Oh well... I'll get me coat ...

Option to buy the Mk4 was basically the outstanding finance. As my annual mileage is high, the balance of the lease reflects that. I didnt want to have a car with post 100,000 miles that owed me £5000.
Perhapse im being too critical of the Ford ... time will tell. The engine is new and not run in yet ... people on the ford sites are tellign me the car should be good for 50+mpg so I guess it just needs time to "loosen up!"
