Anybody own a Golf GTI anniversary?
Discussion
You need www.uk-mkivs.net - good Golf site
Common problems on the Mk IV are:
Coil packs (fail leaving you running on less than the full mplement of cylinders - most of the dodgy ones have been replaced under warranty now)
Window regulators (originals are plastic numbers which often fail leaving the window stuck inside the door skin - again most which were going to fail have now done so and been replaced by the updated metal versions)
Fan problems on those fitted with Climatronic air conditioning.
The only Anniversary specific problem that I can think of were the BBS alloy wheels which were very susceptible to corrosion. Most of these have now been replaced/refurbed by VW but you lose the shinier chrome type finish in the process.
If you find one which hasn't had this done and is outside warranty (which I'm guessing most of them will be now) you might still be able to get a goodwill gesture from VW to refurb/replace.
Hope this helps!
PS My bro has a TDI Anni which he loves!
