laugh What a joke hey, this and loads of other work has been carried out on my VR6 Mk3 Golf by a so called professional outfit... Here's the list so far what the company messed up for me, and this is after I have spent nearly £5k trying to get my VR6 perfect and putting my 100% trust in the company. There work has nealy cost me my life TWICE!!!!!.... after a bolt fell out of the bottom arm which is supposed to be attached to the subframe and chassis. And this is after the company told me there is no torque settings for lower arms and subframes?????

Thankfully its with a proper company now who own a torque wrench!!

Anyway here's the list of f**k up's...

1a. Front ARB upside down - fouling the exhaust.
1b. Has since damaged the exhaust downpipe.
1c. Was not secure and had moved across to the Off Side.

2. Near Side Track rod incorrect. Wrong one fitted.

3a. Off Side CV Boot split.
3b. Off Side CV Joint found to be damaged - requires new one.

4a. Incorrect nuts and bolts (bolts too short) used on Subframe to secure Power Steering Rack.
4b. New (original VW) Bolts and Nuts fitted.

5. No nut on steering knuckle to secure it in place.

6. Bolts too long on rear arm/plates securing s/frame. These were touching the body & have been cut to length.

7. Steering UJ boot not secure

8. Power steering hoses fouling rear of subframe

9. Power steeing hoses fouling front cross member

10. Angle grinder marks on 'new' subframe

11a. New Magnecor leads arcing out - engine misfiring. Replaced with standard leads.
11b. Plastic Lead runners for the above are damaged.

12. Locking nut missing for wheel lock nuts.

13. Bonrath intake pipe touching Master.

14a. Subframe mounting bolt on Near Side has been cross threaded.
14b. Subframe has to be dropped to clean the threads in the floor of the car as a result.
14c. New bolt ordered from VW.

I think thats about it for now. The mechanic doing the job hasnt even got to the rear of the car yet!

Kind Regards
Paul.
