Just a bit of info for any A3,S3,A4,S4,RS4 owners out there who have got satnav installed but have never had TMC enabled Audi have emailed me today (I've been nagging them for months) to say that the 2007 upgrade discs (2 dvd set this time) covering all of europe to street level and with TMC enabled in the UK are being sent out to dealers now and since the disc enable TMC they have agreed that it will be a free dealer upgrade as long as the car is still in warranty, has satnav as an original installation, and you have the old dvd, otherwise it's £210. The TMC is fed from RAC trafficmaster and is a one off install with no ongoing subscription so all in all a bit of a result.

Nice one Mel,

Ordered mine last week. There is a shortage of discs at the moment but it has been ordered and should be in the dealers in a couple of weeks. I think the free upgrade offer is only valid until sometime in June and then normal costs will apply. Also, in addition to this, I am aware of a few owners who have retro-fitted RNS-E and they have managed to get the upgrade FOC too. beer

That is a nice bit of info!
Do you know if it applies to just the new shape or last of the old 2004 shapes as well?

As long as it is still in warranty you will get the upgrade FOC, whether B6 or B7.

What's the procedure to apply for the upgrade? I qualify but haven't had the letter.

You can just contact your dealer direct although some are being a bit funny about it and may say that it is not free. If you get any problems tell them to check their desktop as a memo was sent to all dealers on the 17th/18th Dec informing them of the upgrade. If you get any problems pm me and I will give you the contact details for the point of contact at Audi UK who is dealing with all this. beer

As Dom has mentioned (hello mate ) this memo was sent to the Audi dealers on the 18th Dec

Vehicles built from week 50 2006 and equipped with DVD Satellite Navigation will have the latest
2007 TMC enabled disc installed at the factory. The following programme will allow you to fit this
disc for existing A3 and A4 customers at subsidised cost.

Costs :
There is no standard labour time for the cost of this operation. Any labour costs incurred in the
fitment of the disc cannot be recovered and will need to be paid for by the Centre.
The disc is purchased through parts in the normal way. The relevant part no. is 8PO 060 884 M.
The Centre cost of the disc should be reclaimed through the warranty system.
The programme will run from 22 January 2007 to 30 June 2007 by which time fitments to cars
should have been carried out.

Retail price :
The 2007 disc with the latest digitalised road maps and TMC, and a vehicle lifetime subscription to
TrafficMaster TMC will be Free of Charge for all A3, A3 Sportback, S3, A4, RS4 and S4 customers.
This applies to all discs fitted prior to 30 June 2007.
The recommended retail price of the DVD Satellite Navigation discs after the programme ends on
30 June 2007 will return to the current price of £210.00 including VAT.
Audi UK will be communicating directly with all A3 and A4 customers who have DVD Satellite
Navigation fitted to make them aware of this offer in the same way that we contacted A6 and A8
eligible customers at the end of October.

My upgraded TMC DVD was supplied and installed by my dealer last Saturday, it only takes 10 minutes and is totally free.

Some unscrupulous dealers are trying to charge people £100 for it.
