Golf MK2 Suspension & Engine Part Help
Discussion
Hi All
i drive a 1991 mk2 1.8 driver and have just purchased some spax shocks and springs which are about 1.5 years old, i am swapping them onto my car as my passenger side keeps becoming loose so i thought replace it all and fingers crossed.
How ever i need to know what parts to purchse tomake the job complete.
i gather i need top mounts/slotted nuts but what else?
please can you list all the parts and places to get them from, i usually use vw spares.
Also what engine mount will i need for the front as this is shot, i have seen hydro and rubber?
Cheers for all help in advance
Regards

Get a bonded rubber front engine mount. They are less prone to failure, cheaper and will reduce engine movement on gear changes, braking, acceleration etc. This is what you want: www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1619
For the suspension, replace the bump stops and top mounts for sure if you are unsure of their condition. Remember that when you fit the bump stops you will need to cut them down in relation to the drop of the suspension kit. If you don't do this you will be driving around on the bump stops and ride quality will be horrible. On the rear I would suggest changing the bump stops and top mounts. Rear top mounts are cheap as from VWspares www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=425
Hope this helps you out.
