Audi types,

I currently have a 93/K 2.3 cabrio (90 series) as a runabout - I love owning the car and have decided to upgrade within the same model.

Couple of questions: Did the V6s ever come with heated leather seats? (For the Mrs)

And what is the difference between the 2.6 and 2.8 (apart from 200cc)? Were they offered together? Is one engine 12v the other 24v? Or did one follow the other in the model progression. Surprisingly little to be found on the web.

I know I want to move up to the V6, am I right in saying these engines are 174 and 183bhp respectively? Doesn't seem much of an upgrade if offered together...

Thanks for any help!

The 2.6 and 2.8 are both 12 valve. The 2.6 is 150bhp and the 2.8 174bhp. Both are lazy and more about Torque than Power.

We have a 2.6 A4 within the family and it's a solid tool that does it's job well. A touch heavy on fuel but then it is a V6 and aircon is normally on. Reliable.

Same MJK 24 from SELOC?

Cheers for that, my 2.3 is utterly gutless with 130ish bhp so I'd like a noticeable increase to 174. But I don't use it as a sports car, just for motorway or non-Marcos days.

So were they both available at the same time? Seems to be an overlap of age on Autotrader...
