A6 indicators

I have a small problem with the indicators on my a6 its an 02 reg. They work a bit intermittently sometimes they are fine then they will flash quickly or not at all? the hazards work fine! does anyone know where i might start to look for problems, my first thought was there would be a earthing issue somewhere but then i assumed this would affect the hazarda as well?

Any help greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

Hazard switch. Take 2-3 mins to fit.

Is it just one side? I found the front indicator bulb holders were quite hard to twist all the way home on my '97 A6 causing it to act like a bulb was out half the time. Been fine since I reseated them.

Im not sure about the hazard light swith as these work fine but i'll take it out tomorrow and have a look,see if it makes any difference.

It effects both sides but only when the indicator stalk turns them on they flash normally when activated by the hazard switch.

Ah right thank you for the advice, don't suppose you would know how much these cost??
